My ticket for the TAZARA seems to be moving slower than the train – and that has
a reputation for arriving days late. It took weeks for an agent in Dar to actually
buy the ticket in the first place. Since then it has come to the island with one
of the ferry captains and apparently has got as far as the Safari Lodge hotel
(5 minutes walk). Any moment now I’m sure it will reach me. Maybe it’s because
they deal with tickets all the time or maybe it’s in the "Swahili culture" there’s
no hurry because I don’t need it till Tuesday anyway.
