Today Salim came with a video that didn't power up at all and a TV which apparently only works in black and white although as we didn't have the video working we couldn't see that. Later another video appeared and this works - so I can at last watch "The Message" - apparently there is a video rental shop around the corner.

My phone's been cutting out every minute (literally) so Salim's taken it to find a "fundi".

Tried to contact Mohammed at Zala park but learnt that he's in the UK at the moment.

Remembered it might have been Suzie's birthday recently and I'd forgotten to send a card. Particularly pleased to find a Zanzibar card with a picture of a cat with a sunset behind.

I had an "interview" today and now have the job best described as information officer. This involves collecting, editing, presenting information about ZIFF for website, press, publicity... sounds grand. I'm yet to find out who else is involved - but they don't seem to have a Press Officer this year. The job is Mon - Fri 9-5:30pm but I think I'm fairly free to come and go as I see fit.

Collected the mirror (for a small fortune). It looks really nice. Too heavy to take home. Now all I need is drill/screw/ rawplug.

Invited Charlotte (another volunteer) for a beer at Blues. Beautiful sunset.

Went out to 'Mtoni marine' (near Bububu) to watch the football with a load of expats (non of whom were Italian). It rained hard all night. Got home and very late.
