In Shuhada I walk past Almaz and realise it's ages since I have stopped for a coffee. It is nice to sit there at the end of the afternoon watching the bus station slowly transform from its daytime to night time configuration. I pop into the internet café and write an email to former housemate Neil. Recently, I have finally got around to taking a photo of the shop we still refer to as "Neil's Cheese Shop", and I figured sending him a copy would remind him of us and in particular that he still has some bits and pieces I gave him at Christmas to take back to London for me.

At 9pm, as arranged, I meet with my friend Salah who's up from El Obied. He's in town for a few weeks and wants to continue with his internet lessons. We spend an hour or so in the internet café and finish off with a bowl of rice pudding AND a glass of hot milk in the souq. Such extravagance.
