  Ramadan Futuur Futuur: Ramadan 15

Hiisem is a pleasant guy and a good mate of Kamal's. More importantly he has access to a vehicle and often ends up being the driver for weekend outings. Today Futuur is at his house. We catch one of those 5:30pm suicide buses going north through endless suburbs of Omdurman. The house is cool and spacious. Downstairs there are three rooms run into one with tiled floors, sofas, rugs and glass tables; almost like a furniture showroom. It is cool and comfortable. There are many khawajas. We make small talk and catch up on each other's days. Then we are called to futuur on the roof. The terrace is tastefully decorated with a low wind-baffling wall and friendly lighting. There is a large mat laid out with dishes, with chairs on three sides and on the fourth a wonderful, old, wooden bed that has served the family for over 100 years.
