Week 6 - A Life in Kiwengwa

Being on the east coast of the island I felt compelled to get up and watch the sunrise. I would have gone for a run if my trainers hadn’t gone missing, so I went for a swim instead. The tide was at its highest and far far out there was a wall of surf as waves were breaking over the reef.

To cut a long story short; I went out too far, got caught in currents pulling me out further and ended up literally swimming for my life. I’d been swimming for 2.5 hours when I finally got back on dry land – very lucky to tell the tale.

Later gave 3 of the staff a lift back to town – it was nice to share the journey and help the locals.

Wondered how it is at work now D-day has passed? I've not got THAT credit on my bank a/c yet and the Vodfone chip is still working! Very strange.
